The Light that Casts no Shadow

knocking out a ring

on the solid

oaken

Door

the gateway

through Love

of salvation

into the World

calling out a prayer

to the sun light

saturating

drenching

the limbs

of the naked garden

in dew

leaving behind us

the sword-sharpened

quill

and the doctrines

and the follies

and the quarrels

and the slain

through the gate

the radiance holds us

cuts our forms against the sky

and holds our hearts fast

fastness

in its limitless embrace

through the gate

born into faith

the children circle up the hill

the faith that needs no idols

the faith that bears no names

salvation is

an invitation

to the beggars

and the scattered dogs

to rise like a candle lamp

into the heavens

aflame

to rise like a sun-bird

and rest

and rest

in motion

to rest and rest in motion

in the light that casts no shadows.
